Bio:

Hannah Wilson is a Leadership Development consultant, coach and trainer.

She is the Founder and Director of the Belonging Effect (she is also the Co-Founder of #WomenEd and #DiverseEd). She is the Co-Editor of Diverse Educators: A Manifesto and the author of Cultivating Belonging in Schools (SAGE 2026).

She previously taught English, Drama and Media Studies over a 20 year career in schools - in Kent, London and Oxfordshire. She has held multiple leadership roles including Head of Department, Head of Year, Assistant/ Deputy/ Executive Headteacher and trust-wide/ Teaching School wide roles as well.

She has led a PGCE for Buckingham University, delivered the NPQs for Harris Federation and designed a new MA programme for Leeds Beckett University. She has been a governor and a trustee in multiple settings. She mentors a young carer and leads an undergrad mentoring programme for future women leaders.

Hannah Wilson is a founding member of the GEC Circle and one of the most influential voices in education leadership, equity, and inclusion. A long-standing champion of the GEC Platform, Hannah has actively amplified the GEC’s work and impact across the sector, including publicly championing the findings of the second GEC Inclusion Index (November 2025).

Her involvement with the GEC Circle brings energy, credibility, and moral clarity, consistently pushing the system towards more inclusive, representative, and values-led leadership.
