Bio:

Luke is an award-winning Senior Deputy Headmaster and Director of Safeguarding at St Benedict’s School, recognised for his academic leadership, pastoral innovation, and whole-school development. National accolades include NAPCE Pastoral Leader of the Year (2021–22) and the Raising Awareness About Pastoral Care award (2023). Luke is also an ISI inspector, and speaks and writes regularly on educational leadership, safeguarding, and innovation.  In recent years, his work has centred on the ethical and purposeful integration of AI into education—shaping pastoral systems, enhancing staff training, and embedding AI across the curriculum.

Luke Ramsden is a valued member of the GEC Circle and our Independent School Advisor, bringing nationally recognised expertise in safeguarding, pastoral care, and leadership. As Senior Deputy Head and DSL at St Benedict’s School, Luke has led award-winning work in student wellbeing and safeguarding strategy.

The GEC has partnered with Luke on events exploring safeguarding and AI, and he is a regular speaker at the GEC Circle Table. As a GEC Member, he contributes both resources to the GEC Platform and thought pieces to our blogs. A strong supporter of our mission, Luke frequently references the GEC in his national writing, amplifying our shared commitment to safe, inclusive, and future-focused education.
