Bio:
At Bright Futures UK, our mission is to ensure that serious illness doesn’t mean the end of a young person’s education or future. We exist to support children and young people aged 5-24 who are forced to take time out of school due to serious illness - physical or mental health.
We recognise the immense challenges faced by these young people, who must contend not only with their health but also with the social, emotional, and academic hurdles that come with extended absences from education.
Our mission is to ensure that every young person, regardless of their medical circumstances, can succeed in their education and future. We offer a range of tailored programmes, including 1:1 tutoring to help students keep up with their studies, befriending to provide social connection and combat isolation, mentoring to guide young people on their next steps post-illness, and in-hospital skills workshops that allow them to learn new skills and connect with peers facing similar challenges.
