Join us for a free 60-minute online event for educators on Thursday, 15th January, at 1 pm, or on Wednesday, 21st January, at 11 am (both UK time).
You are invited to contribute to this important discussion to formulate ideas & strategies and introduce practical actions to mitigate the risk of future instances of suicide deaths among educators and students within our schools.
Current situation
Each year, we lose more than 200 school-aged children to suicide. Increased pressures placed on schools and educators mean that instances of anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts are frequent concerns and can lead to events like the tragic loss of Head Teacher, Ruth Perry, who took her own life in January 2023 following an Ofsted Inspection at the high school she led in November 2022.
Through the national collaborative for suicide prevention, One Voice, One Hope, spearheaded by The Jordan Legacy CIC and now an Innovation Partner with The Royal Foundation for The Prince and Princess of Wales, on January 15th at 1 pm and again on January 20th at 11 am, we are hosting a 60-minute webinar, and you are invited to attend.
What will be covered?
An explanation about the vision for One Voice, One Hope
About our Collaborative Action Group for Education
Our long-term vision to answer the question: "What is the purpose of education and what is its role in today's world, in relation to our mission of preventing suicides?"
A discussion on the more pressing issue of how a collaborative approach could help UK schools prepare for the introduction of new suicide prevention curriculum training requirements by September 2026.
At the end of this webinar, we will invite you to express your interest in joining One Voice, One Hope to help shape the development of the One Voice, One Hope Collaborative Action Groups as we embark on an inspiring journey to help create educational environments that balance educational attainment and performance with the wellbeing of students and educators.
