Dyslexia: A Parent’s Guide to Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and Other Learning Difficulties

Many children spend their entire school lives struggling with their school work. Research has shown that at least 10-15% of children with seemingly typical learning ability will have a significant problem with school learning. They might feel that whatever they do is not good enough - either for their parents, their teachers or themselves. This can then result in feelings of demoralisation, and even disconnection from learning and school. This book aims to address these issues and to help parents understand and deal with them.

Dyslexia: A Parents' Guide tackles this issue head-on by correcting pervasive misconceptions about learning difficulties and addresses the often contradictory advice provided by ‘experts’. Both authors are experienced psychologists with extensive knowledge of children's learning difficulties. This book shows parents how to successfully assess and manage their child's difficulties.
