The Brain Forest
The Brain Forest is a fun and engaging children's book written by neurodivergent child psychologist Sandhya Menon that teaches children about neurodiversity, including neurotypical brains, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and more-in language that builds understanding without pathologizing difference. Rather than just focusing on acceptance this book takes a realistic approach to neurodiversity and explains to kids both the strengths and the challenges that come with this conditions, though ultimately Memon centres the strengths. This positive language helps to make the book more inviting to young neurodivergent children.
