Bio:

Kurt Doyle is the Headteacher of St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School in Gloucester. He has further experience of successfully leading two other primary schools in challenging circumstances. Before working in education, Kurt worked in professional football. He has been associated with elite sport since his teenage years, as a player, coach and latterly in leadership roles.

Kurt’s early lived experiences exposed him to socio-economic challenge, mental health, youth offending and social mobility. Exposure to social challenge and a desire to do something about this guided him towards working with young people, before deciding to become a teacher. This transition also the result of a small number of influential people he was fortunate enough to meet in his journey.

Kurt is passionate about high quality inclusive education, outstanding pastoral support and personal development for pupils and staff, and creating inclusive and caring schools which place people and creativity and the heart of everything they do. He is ardent in his belief that every child has the right to outstanding provision and every child has unique and beautiful gifts and talents.

Kurt has particular interests in school improvement, pupil premium and disadvantage, inclusive education, and curriculum design.

Kurt is straight talking, radically honest and driven to support positive change which contributes to increased life opportunities and improved outcomes for all children. This is deeply rooted in his lived experiences, his faith and his belief that every single person is important.
