Dr Sarah Moseley
Member of the GEC Circle of Influence
Bio:
I am an educational consultant, author, speaker, and trainer with over 30 years’ experience in both mainstream and special education. My work centres on equity, accessibility, and raising outcomes for all children and young people. Having worked across a wide range of roles, from teaching assistant to Headteacher, I draw on a practical and empathetic understanding of what schools and families need to help every learner thrive. I specialise in neurodiversity, literacy development, and inclusive practice, and I am passionate about bridging research with real-world application. My PhD in Special Education explored the relationship between reading and self-esteem, a theme that continues to shape both my practice and my writing. I am the author of Teaching Reading to All Learners Including Those with Complex Needs and I am currently writing my next book, Writing for All, which focuses on inclusive and adaptive approaches to teaching writing. Above all, I care deeply about creating environments where every learner feels seen, valued, and able to succeed. Meaningful change starts with the adults, and I believe every action, no matter how small, can make a difference. Just like in the Star Thrower story, one small act can change everything for that learner.
“I am passionate about closing the gap between what we know works and what is happening on the ground. Being part of the Circle of Influence enables me to contribute to a community that is committed to turning evidence into impact for learners, families and educators everywhere.”
